Warp is a fate. Weft is a way of life.
— Story of weaving
These are the words that weavers always keep in their hearts. The warp is displayed beforehand. Put a weft in this warp as it appears, one by one, and weave. Life itself is seen in the process of weaving; time(weft-life) enters space(warp-fate). We are particular about the “plain weave” which is the simplest weaving technique, in order to make the image that represents the kimono clearer. We concentrate on weaving while praying that when it becomes Tanmono (textiles for kimono) the color will appear lively. In the atelier, we can hear only the sound of weaving. During busy days, once we sit at the loom, we are soon surrounded in a quiet world of our own and we weave.
