Silkworm cocoons make thread and we dye and weave by loom using the thread. We produce Tsumugi Kimono with courtly textures to wear that use silk yarn for warp thread and Tsumugi yarn (spun from floss silk) for weft thread. In order to pursue the texture and color of expression, we developed an original yarn blending the finest organic cotton by pesticide-free, organic farming and silk thread. We dyed the yarn with natural plant dye. This is an ideal product for you, even if you are not wearing a kimono, whether you are male or female, and is the perfect product to familiarise you with the world of the Atelier Shimura.

Plain color stole
We weave using only plain color, because we believe it is the best way to get a taste for the color of plant dye. It is characterized by thin and light fabrics. The stole has measures against suntanning and cold air-conditioning in summer and yet has protection from the cold in winter.

Checkered stole
Since we wish to maintain the soft texture, we produce them hand-woven. The stole is thin and of light fabric that is not bulky, can be worn easily inside coats and jackets and can create different impressions depending on how you wrap it around yourself.

All the processes from yarn dyeing to weaving are carefully performed by hand to create single-item stoles. The colors of plants and the depth of texture created by hand weaving are appealing. It richly expresses Atelier Shimura's world of colors and can be worn as a stole with Japanese or Western clothes, of course. It can also be used as a table centerpiece, or hung on the wall as tapestry for interior decoration.

This Sukiya bag is woven with plant dye thread. This bag can be used not only for events requiring kimono or for tea ceremonies, but also for western style clothes. This is also suitable for carrying the Kogire Art notebook.

The "Kobukusa" and "Dashibukusa" are woven with thread dyed with plant dye for the tea ceremony, which values ​​harmony with nature. In addition, they can be used for the interior as well.

We carefully collage Kogire as a tradition inherited by the atelier, then set it in an original frame. This comes across in an abstract art manner which is suitable to decorate for both Japanese and Western appearances.
