Atelier Shimura values ​​the ancient Japanese people's love for nature and sense of color, as well as the culture that has developed from them. In our online seminars, we will study one theme throughout the year. It will be a time to learn, think, and feel together through the world of color and words. We hope that this will be an opportunity for you to discover something new and deepen your understanding.

Starting in 2023, under the theme of "Learning the Basics of the Philosophy of Beauty," we will carefully select books that we would like to read together with you and deepen our learning with a sense of modern issues. It is often said that you can understand a person's thoughts by looking at their bookshelf, so we will read books that have left a deep impression on us, focusing on culture, art, thought, and literature. In the first half of the seminar, we will clearly explain the background and key points of the book, and in the second half, we will deepen our learning by sharing our thoughts with each other. It is not enough to just learn, but to digest it and express it in your own words, and then the thought will become your own. We look forward to your participation.
