Born in 1949. Dyeing and weaving artist. Inspired by the art of indigo dyeing, she entered the world of dyeing and weaving in her 30s, just like her mother, Shimura Fukumi. In 1989, she founded Tsuki Kobo as a place to comprehensively learn about the whole picture of culture, including religion, art, and education, through weaving.
