[Setagaya] Dyeing and Weaving Workshop - Kariyasu -

Kariyasu is a plant that grows abundantly on mountain slopes and in fields, and has been used since ancient times as a valuable yellow dye. In Shimura dyeing, it also plays an important role as a base dye for indigo. The fact that "Kariyasu" has become established as a color name is perhaps a reflection of its long history of popularity. Please see for yourself with your own hands and eyes how it differs from the yellows obtained from other dyes, and how the color evokes the long autumn nights.
