"The Voice of Plants," which was serialized in the Kyoto Shimbun digital media " THE KYOTO " for 43 issues from September 2020 to August 2022, has been published as a book. Using Shimura Fukumi's words as a guide, Atelier Shimura representative Shimura Masashi writes about his thoughts on dyeing and weaving, along with colorful photographs by Kyoto-based photographer Taguchi Yoko. For the book version, the text has been revised and new photographs have been selected. It also includes a conversation between Taguchi Yoko and Shimura Masashi. The book was designed by art directors Kaoru Kasai and Yoko Nakamoto.
It is currently on sale at Atelier Shimura Kyoto Main Branch and the Seijo, Tokyo branch. It will also be available at bookstores nationwide and on Amazon in due course. Please take a look.

− Event commemorating the publication of "The Voice of Plants" −

To commemorate the publication of " Voice of Plants ," a photo exhibition and talk event will be held at the Kyoto Shimbun newspaper. The photo exhibition will display approximately 40 photographs, including those included in " Voice of Plants ." Yoko Taguchi says, "The 'colors ' were constantly changing, and it was as if I was photographing a living thing." Please come and see the photographs that capture the craftsmanship of Atelier Shimura.
Prior to the exhibition, there will be a talk event with Yoko Taguchi and Masashi Shimura. The talk will be on a topic that will allow readers to learn more about the book's contents. We hope you will join us.
