[Talk event related to the special exhibition "Atelier Shimura's Cherry Blossoms"] Takayama Hanako "Weaving Voices - Ishimure Michiko and the Image of Cherry Blossoms"

This time, To coincide with the special exhibition "Atelier Shimura's Cherry Blossoms," we will be holding a talk event featuring Hanako Takayama from Meiji University.
Our connection with Takayama-san began with the production of the new Noh play "Okimiya," based on the original work by Ishimure Michiko and with costume supervision by Shimura Fukumi. That was the trigger. After that, through reading groups such as Michiko Ishimure's books, we have deepened our thoughts together about the connection between stories and "color."
The other day, Takayama-san was reading Ishimure-san's masterpiece "Kugai Jodo" His book "The Sorrow of the World - An Analysis of the Complete Trilogy of "Kugai Jodo"" In this event, we will explore the world of Ishimure's work, which is also reflected in this book, and unravel the images of flowers and cherry blossoms that bloom there. We hope to share with you the landscape of this story woven by words and colors. Please come and join us.
