Atelier Shimura Special Exhibition "Shimura Tea Accessories Exhibition"
Our annual New Year's "Shimura Tea Accessories Exhibition" will be held again this year. This special exhibition will feature old silk cloths, cloth wrappers, sukiya-style pouches, and kaishi cases made from textiles by dyeing and weaving artists Fukumi Shimura and Yoko Shimura. The rich colors of the plants harmonize and add color to your tea ceremony. We hope you will use these items not only for tea ceremonies, but also for a variety of everyday occasions.
Shimura Fukumi will turn 102 in 2026. The 102nd birthday is called "Hyakuni no ga," and it is a truly auspicious tradition to celebrate every year after the 100th birthday. We hope you will take the time to view the many tea accessories created to commemorate this special year.

Learning session "Learn about the world of Shimura Fukumi"
Fukumi Shimura talks about "Evening Prayer: Reading Rilke"
"I can feel, I can" Rilke, "Poems of the Hours"
The origins of "Evening Prayer" lie in the Rilke reading notes that Shimura Fukumi began writing in her 70s. Encouraged by the words, "I feel, I can," Fukumi continued to read Rilke. What resonated with her and what did she learn from Rilke? In this study group, we hope to unravel Fukumi's words and consider how they relate to our own inner selves.
