Starting Friday , March 13, 2026 , Ars Shimura will hold the " 2025 Graduation Exhibition" and " 2nd Alumni Exhibition" simultaneously at the Museum of Kyoto in Kyoto Prefecture for three days.
■ 2025 Graduation Exhibition
The kimono and obi sashes that regular students, special course correspondence students, and correspondence students have hand-dyed and passionately woven will be on display as the fruit of their year of study. Please come and see these works, which are brimming with the warmth of handwork, woven from colored silk threads dyed with natural dyes.
■ 2nd Alumni Exhibition and Special Exhibition: Indigo Mandala
Now in its 13th year since its founding in 2013 , the school has produced over 500 graduates. In 2023 , we will hold an exhibition of works by graduates who are now pursuing their own paths.
Additionally, there will be a special exhibition of mandalas made from indigo fabrics that have been collaboratively created by generations of students in the second- year regular course since 2014. We hope that visitors will be able to experience the trajectory of dyeing and weaving that has been woven by successive generations of students.
Please enjoy the rich colors of spring in Kyoto. We look forward to seeing you there.
