The episode on safflower root has begun. Purple is mentioned in the "Manyoshu" (Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves), and it has been used as a dye since ancient times. Now it is very valuable, and in the workshop it is dyed carefully every year. The video shows the moment when the root is stepped on with the feet to extract the pigment, and silk thread is passed through the safflower root dye liquid while being careful about the temperature.
