Kusagi: A deciduous tree that often grows on forest edges, riverbanks, and in gaps between stone walls, and can tolerate the shade. In autumn, blue berries appear inside star-shaped reddish purple calyxes. If you collect and boil these berries, they will dye the plant a vivid sky blue even without mordant.
