Ars Shimura Art School will be offering a correspondence course in the summer of 2022, where students can create things at home and experience the joy of weaving and handiwork in their daily lives. As part of this, we have created an original Shimura loom that is compact and easy to place in a room. Made from cherry wood, which is smooth to the touch and gentle on the thread, this stylish loom can also be used as interior décor. It was created together with designers from the different fields of architecture and furniture.
This special exhibition will be the unveiling of this original loom. In addition to the loom itself, some of the works woven in the Ars Shimura correspondence course will also be on display. In addition, a weaving workshop using the original loom will be held on the weekend (advance registration required).

[ Weaving Workshop ]
This is a weaving workshop using Shimura's original loom. The instructor is an instructor from Ars Shimura. While talking about colors, threads, and weaving, you will weave your own cloth and create a paperback-sized notebook with the finished cloth. (Optional framing is available. Separate frame fee required.) Anyone interested in dyeing and weaving or who wants to enjoy handicrafts is welcome to join us.
