Special Exhibition: Atelier Shimura Kimono - Wind's Fragrance

This is the season when trees burst into lush green and a gentle breeze blows. We are pleased to announce "Atelier Shimura Kimono Exhibition - Fragrant Breeze," an exhibition of kimonos created using nature's blessings.
Atelier Shimura's kimonos are bountiful "gifts from nature." The lustrous silk threads received from silkworms are dyed with plants, and while envisioning natural landscapes and stories, they are hand-woven as if giving water to a single flower.
To wear a plant-dyed kimono is to adorn oneself with nature's beautiful colors and be gently protected by the vitality of plants. May the immeasurable colors of plants warmly embrace your heart and beautifully color your days to come. We hope you encounter a special kimono that will stay with you throughout your life.
This time, we will unveil three new kimono designs. We sincerely hope you will come and see them.

Date and Time: May 2 (Sat) - June 23 (Tue), 12:00 - 17:30. Closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. *Open on holidays.

〈New Kimonos〉
We offer kimonos with refreshing gradations, bright overlapping check patterns, and purple kimonos reminiscent of flowers. We also recommend tailoring each into a single-layer kimono (hitoe).
"Water Lily Garden"
A kimono reminiscent of Monet's garden in Giverny, where the painter spent his later years. Water lilies blooming in the pond, the sky and trees reflected on the water's surface, and the ever-changing light and shadow. In the colors that blend as if bleeding, the Impressionist gaze and the Eastern view of nature quietly overlap.
"Pont Neuf"
The Pont Neuf, spanning the Seine River in Paris—bearing the name "New Bridge," it still stands as the oldest stone bridge in Paris. The bright grid-like color scheme captures the light on the river surface shimmering around the bridge piers and the European charm of the ancient city onto a single kimono.

"Violet Field"
A kimono with purple dyed from murasaki (lithospermum) likened to violets blooming in a field. The murasaki dye quietly depicts violets blooming across a spring field. The warmth of the earth and the vitality of secretly budding wildflowers gently reside on the kimono.

◼︎Kimono Fitting Session
This is a fitting session where you can experience the colors of plants and the texture of tsumugi (pongee silk) by wearing Atelier Shimura's kimonos. We hope this will be a time for you to encounter your "special kimono." We welcome even those who are not usually familiar with kimonos.
