atelier shimura × HORINOUCHI MAYO Winter Stole Exhibition "The Sparkle of Materials"

This autumn, Atelier Shimura will be holding the second exhibition of stole works by HORINOUCHI Mayo. Based in Kyoto, she is a dyer and weaver who produces works using a variety of materials, including cotton, linen, silk, and wool, using thread dyeing and hand looms.
The main stole in this collection uses silk thread dyed by Atelier Shimura for the warp thread and merino wool for the weft. The lustrous silk that reflects light and the texture of wool that absorbs light, interwoven together, create a variety of light and expressions within a single piece. The lace-like sheer pattern that emerges from the weave allows light to penetrate from various angles and shine quietly when worn. This warm and light stole can be worn with both Western and Japanese clothing.
We also have a wide selection of HORINOUCHI MAYO scarves, including compact mufflers and large blankets. We hope you will come and take a look.

HORINOUCHI MAYO | HORINOUCHI MAYO
A dyer and weaver who uses a variety of materials, including cotton, linen, silk, and wool, and creates works using thread dyeing and hand looms. The unevenness and distortion created by the combination of the complex interweaving of warp and weft threads and post-weaving processing enriches the look of the fabric. Her works, such as blankets, rugs, and other interior fabrics, as well as stoles, are presented at solo exhibitions and sales events.
