In commemoration of the brand's sixth anniversary, this special exhibition will feature new kimonos on display and for sale. The work was created based on the theme of Miyazawa Kenji's "Night on the Galactic Railroad." Just as the protagonist Giovanni learns the true meaning of life from the various things he encounters on his journey on the Galactic Railroad, this piece expresses the desire to continue moving forward with strength in these turbulent times. A scene from the Galactic Railroad is expressed with a deep indigo blue reminiscent of the galaxy and the fiery red of safflower. Making use of the delicate hues unique to plants, the design is bolder than anything we've ever seen before. We hope you will come and take a look.

−Kita Kamakura Plant Dyeing Workshop "The Colors of the Sunset - Dyeing Madder"−
To celebrate the 6th anniversary of Atelier Shimura, we will be holding a special workshop. The venue will be "Takara no Niwa Garden, Kita-Kamakura." This is a unique opportunity to experience dyeing surrounded by the rich nature of the valley. The dye used is "Akane," which is reminiscent of the majestic sunsets of autumn. Enjoy dyeing surrounded by beautiful nature, air, and water.

To celebrate the 6th anniversary of Atelier Shimura , we will be holding a special talk. We have invited Tokichika Yamashina, the 30th head of the Yamashina School of Emondo, which carries on the traditions of preparing and wearing the costumes used at the Imperial Court, to talk about costumes and colors, with a focus on forbidden colors.
* Kinjiki ( forbidden colors ) are colors that were forbidden to be used by anyone other than the Emperor and nobles at the Japanese Imperial Court .
