An exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of dyeing and weaving artist Shimura Fukumi will be held at the Art Square on the 6th floor of Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore. In addition to a panel display tracing Shimura Fukumi's activities, the exhibition will also feature "Seri no Haku," an original loom called "hatari," and tools related to weaving. You can also see Atelier Shimura products such as scarves in new colors and letter sets, as well as Shimura Fukumi's books. Enjoy the world of colors and words spun by Shimura Fukumi.

To commemorate the holding of the "Shimura Fukumi 100th Anniversary Exhibition," we will be welcoming guest Maito Komuro of "MAITO/Maito" to hold a talk event with Atelier Shimura representative Shoji Shimura on the theme of "Considering the future of dyeing and weaving," with a particular focus on plant dyeing.
