Message from the instructors: "The charm of weaving rolls of fabric"
When starting to weave a roll of fabric, first do a test weave. Find a comfortable rhythm of lines and harmony of colors as the warp and weft threads overlap. Using this as a foundation, you can then repeat and vary the weave as you go. As you freely weave, repeating your favorite colors, rhythms, and themes you want to express, a rich journey of concentration begins. At first glance, a roll of fabric may appear minimal, but perhaps it can be said that it expresses infinity rather than monotony.

The spring session is now fully booked and registration is closed, and we are currently discussing designs with students. Students choose from several types of warp threads and decide on a color combination, but even with the same vertical stripes, each student's individuality will be reflected in the warp thread depending on the spacing and color of the stripes.
At our workshop in Sagano, Kyoto, we dye the threads and prepare the warp threads to match each student's design. What kind of weft thread will be woven into these stripes, and what kind of bolt of fabric will be created? It's an exciting time, and our imaginations are running wild as well.
We are all looking forward to meeting all of you unique individuals in the autumn course.
