Autumn is known as the season for reading and art, and is a time when it's easy to concentrate. While the hot weather has been getting longer recently, and things are starting to change, why not add dyeing and weaving using colors obtained from plants to the enjoyment of autumn? In October, we'll be providing dyes in colors reminiscent of ripe persimmons, crimson skies bathed in sunlight, and autumn leaves, and we look forward to your participation.

The color of madder evokes images of sun, light, and daytime. It is a familiar color to Japanese people, and as seen in the pillow word "akane sasu" (falling red) in waka poetry, it has been a familiar and intimate color since ancient times. There are several types of dyes that bear the name "madder," and each has a different hue, making dyeing fun. In the refreshing light of autumn, reminisce about classical literature, paint a landscape bathed in the color of madder, or enjoy any form of expression.
