Hosomi Museum of Art "Special Exhibition: Shimura Fukumi: 101st Life - The Floating Bridge of Dreams"
Following on from 2001 and 2013, the Hosomi Museum of Art in Okazaki, Kyoto, will be holding its third Fukumi Shimura exhibition. This exhibition will focus on distinctive themes from recent years, such as "The Tale of Genji," "purple," and the costumes from the new Noh play "Okinomiya," based on an original work by Ishimure Michiko. Through her artworks and written words, the exhibition will showcase her endless contemplation of color, life, and nature, as well as her desire to pass on her message to the future. Two works conceived and created for this exhibition will also be shown for the first time.
Date: March 3rd (Tuesday) – May 31st (Sunday), 2026
*Exhibits will be changed during the exhibition period. First period: March 3rd (Tue) - April 12th (Sun)
Second semester: April 14th (Tuesday) - May 31st (Sunday)
Venue: Hosomi Museum of Art, 6-3 Okazaki Saishojicho, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto
Opening hours: 10:00-17:00
Closed on Mondays (but open on May 4th), May 7th (Thursday)
Admission fee: Adults 2,000 yen (advance ticket 1,800 yen), Students 1,500 yen
Museum Shop "Art Cube" Product Exhibition and Sales Announcement
During the period, Fukumi Shimura and Yoko Shimura's small textile works, as well as Atelier Shimura products, will be on display and for sale at the museum shop "Art Cube" located on the second basement floor of the Hosomi Museum of Art. Please stop by.
