A symposium will be held to commemorate the performance of the new Noh play "Okimiya" held in Kyoto in June 2021. We will discuss the new Noh play "Okimiya," the thoughts of Ishimure Michiko, the author of the original work of "Okimiya," and the appeal and possibilities of "contemporary Noh."
The panelists will be Kongo Ryukin, Kamata Touji, and Sato Takeaki, all of whom are related to the new Noh play "Okimiya," and Shimura Shoji will act as moderator. You will also be able to see the dance "Okimiya" by Kongo Ryukin. We will provide easy-to-understand explanations so that everyone can participate with ease.
