Why do people
Like looking at glass paintings, shells, and jewels.

Shimura Fukumi "My Small Pieces"
This is a collection box of cards made from digitalized kogire (small pieces of fabric) that dyer and weaver Shimura Fukumi created for her book "Kogire no Hako" (Shikosha, 1984 ). The kogire were created when Shimura was in her 50s , the most mature period of her career as an artist, and are all valuable pieces that cannot be seen even in museums today. There are 50 kogire cards in total, each with a title. The card box has a small window, so it can be displayed indoors.
For Shimura Fukumi, kimono are like a diary, a sign of her daily life. I hope you too will enjoy kimono in accordance with the changing seasons.
