
Atelier Shimura is currently running a series on "THE KYOTO," a platform that disseminates traditional culture and crafts from Kyoto, as well as useful tips for daily life.
This is the second episode about yew. The heartwood of yew is reddish brown and shiny, and it is a high-quality tree that represents Japan historically. I used kasuri thread dyed with yew for a fabric with the theme of "Forest at Dusk." Please take a look at the weaving process.
