Gallery Atelier Shimura is celebrating its opening with a photo exhibition by Takao Inoue entitled "Shimura Fukumi: Colors and Words." Takao Inoue, who has been creating works based on the motif of Japanese nature, is a close friend of dyeing and weaving artist Fukumi Shimura, and has been photographing her dyeing and weaving scenes and works for many years. Inoue's photographs are also featured in Fukumi Shimura's representative books and collections, such as "Isshiki Isshō" (Kyuryudo), "Iro wo o Aderu" (Chikuma Bunko), and "Kagaribi" (Kyuryudo).
This exhibition will feature six carefully selected works. We hope that through Inoue's photographs, you will be able to experience Fukumi Shimura's world of color and words.
In the store space, we will also be selling books featuring Takao Inoue's photographs, such as "Iro wo adaeru," "Kagaribi," and "Tsumugiori" (Kyuryudo). We will also be offering special copies with Fukumi Shimura's signature.
